The Great Sand Dunes
If you only look to the West, you'd think you are in the middle of the Sahara. But look to the East and you'll see a line of mountains and you're reminded that you're in Colorado. These dunes stretch on forever, and many of them are deceptively steep and difficult to summit. One of the neatest parts is the seasonal river that is created from snow melt from the nearby mountains, you need to wade through this shin deep river to reach the dunes. Such an amazing place!
